Although visitors often miss out on the wild experiences minutes away from the tourist hotspots. The Wildzone aims to help visitors really see the wild side of Cumbria from close up wild life encounters to wild family activities.

Haverigg Beach

Haverigg beach has extensive sands at low tide and is close to the RSPB reserve at Hodbarrow. Haverigg is great for families- so don't forget to bring your wild child! The sand dunes at Haverigg haws are a breeding ground for the protected natterjack toad. A large sculpture called 'Escape to Light' by the internationally renowned sculptor Josefina de Vasconellos overlooks the beach. This beach has a quality coast award for cleanliness. Childrens play area, cafe, toilets and car park nearby.
