Join us for ten days of guided walks and talks among the rugged gems and cool coastline of the Western Lake District. From gentle rambles exploring the areas nature reserves to towering Wainwrights in the Duddon Valley, there is something for everyone at the Black Combe Walking Festival.

Have some family fun discovering the wildlife of Barrow and find out about all the other great Springwatch activities going on throughout the month! Pond-dipping, make a bird feeder, beach detectives quiz, batty about bats, brilliant birds, bushcraft and lots more! All activities are free, and there's no need to book, just come along! 11.00am-3.00pm

Jubilee Beacon


One of the many Cumbrian Beacons to be lit on Jubilee Day will be at The Croft/Gosling Sike Farm at 10.00pm. Nature reserve staff will lead a bat walk. Organic refreshments and barbeque will be on sale. This will be a super community event, supported by Houghton C of E school, St John’s Church and Stanwix Rural Parish Council. 9.00pm-12.00am
