Get around the Wildzone!
Everyone involved in the Wildzone wants to look after our beautiful Cumbrian countryside and help you get the most out of your visit. You can help us too by thinking about how you travel to Wildzone attractions and events.
We know that not everywhere can be reached by public transport, but lots of places can and there are some amazing journeys to be made by train and bus. You can sit back, relax, enjoy the scenery and know that you are helping the planet to!
Perhaps you're staying near a Wildzone attraction - how about walking to it and leaving the car parked at your accommodation? You might have a bike - bring it with you and be able to get a new view on our lovely countryside!
During the summer, there's an all in one timetable for the buses called Lakesrider. You can get it at Tourist Information Centres and it's full of information about tickets and places to go, plus the timetables of course! There are some great value tickets for all day travel.
Have a look at the Wildzone partners own websites too for travel information.
You can also ring Traveline for all public transport information on 0871 200 22 33 or go to www.traveline.info.
For journey planning have a look at www.transportdirect.info which has information on buses, trains, cycling and more.
For getting around by train, go to www.thetrainline.co.uk.
Whichever way you choose to get around, enjoy your Wildzone visit!
